Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her roles in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! She first began her career acting during the 80s. Her fame was boosted by the film Tezaab starring veteran actor Anil Kooor. She next appeared in the movie Dil where she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. When she was a kid she began developing her skills at a young age. She started acting when a youngster and struggled through a couple of years since most of her initial film projects were unsuccessful. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and was one of the most prominent actresses within the Indian film industry. After her marriage the actress took time to rest from her acting career before returning. More recently she played in a crucial role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit has been nominated 15 times to win Filmfare Awards. She won eight of these. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize in India, was bestowed upon Dixit. She has also been recognized by the field of social work.
